The details...

  • Walking Shadow Ecology Tour's Yellowstone family tours are specially designed for all ages of explorers!

  • We will design our day together based on your family's interests, creating a lasting experience and connection to Yellowstone's diversity and wildness. Whether searching for wildlife or signs of their passing, exploring Yellowstone's volcano, or taking a wander off the road to experience true wilderness, we've got you covered (and we bring loads of snacks!)

  • We avoid too much car time, choosing instead to track animals, take short hikes, and play games that help inform the complexities of Yellowstone at age-appropriate levels.

  • Our youngest participants will walk away from their experience with a deeper connection to our natural world. They may even become a Junior Ranger!

  • After a day with our Yellowstone guides, your family or group will be knowledgeable in Leave No Trace ethics, and how to be better stewards of the Earth.

  • With games, stories, and hands-on learning, science comes alive with the leadership of our highly skilled Naturalist Guides. Of course, the grown-ups in the group will still learn something new!

  • By enhancing your visit with our Yellowstone for Families tour, your family vacation will create enduring memories of connecting with the land, wildlife, and to each other.
